Our reviews

"Brilliant stay!"
I am used to staying in hotels, I thought I'll try a b&b . Saw this one and another in weymouth. I risked it for a biscuit, and decided to stay where I spend many happy memories at kingston maurward. Never thought I'd stay in dorch again. I saw the reviews and had to see myself.
I was greated and shown to my room. Impressed. Looked around my room, impressed and free parking, impressed. Breakfast in morning, impressed. Nice, bright rooms. Lovely done out. Lovely tea, coffee and water. Nice bed, it was just so nice and I was really impressed. Quiet and good load of channels. Gary was lovely and reminds me of my dad. Looks like him a bit. Impressed with the breakfast room. The tv room. What is this? It's not a b and b, it's should be a high end hotel. I will be coming back and I will be signing gary and Nicola praises. Thank you for great hospitality. Top end.

"Best in Dorset"

Family stayed here and they loved it. Clean, comfortable and a very warm welcome from the owners. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure a fantastic stay. Would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing trip to Dorchester in Dorset. Family can't wait to come back and rebook the Bay Tree!
"This is what a modern B&B should look like"
This B&B is run by a very nice chap who really seems to want people to enjoy the place - forget about any kind of old-fashioned battleaxe running the place. We turned up early Friday evening - we'd booked a twin room because that was all we could see available online - but he offered us a switch to a different room without us asking as he realised my other half would likely prefer it.
He took Covid seriously - but in a way that people could still enjoy themselves. At breakfast, the main table was full, so when my other half wanted some coffee and cereal - his response was "Don't worry - just sit on the sofa and I'll bring it over to you". The main table is itself set up in a way that it pretty much forces guests to be sociable and talk to each other, instead of spending breakfast sitting in silence - and feels much more like a home with guests than a small hotel.
